ATC hand builds the most accurate professional reference loudspeakers in the world
Based on the same mid and HF drivers, and the same amplifier block as the SCM200A, the SCM300A employs larger 375mm bass drivers and a larger 300 litre enclosure to deliver even higher maximum volume (121dB/1m), with extended bass and increased transient headroom.
ATC is a British company whose total preoccupation has been with quality. Since its inception in 1974, ATC has kept steadfastly to its founder's (Billy Woodman) aims of building loudspeakers and audio electronics which employ the most effective of modern engineering principles. ATC doesn't respond to competition, they respond to advances in technology that enable them to improve their product. The goal is to make loudspeakers as near perfection in their performance as possible— meaning the lowest possible distortion.
ATC has found that the only way to address distortion is to build their own drivers. Examples of this are ATC's unique Mid-Dome (the only one in the industry) and the state of the art Super Linear woofers.
Manufactured in house to exacting tolerances, ATC's drivers are legendary for their many design innovations. The Soft Dome midrange driver achieves exceptionally broad and even dispersion, so the reverberant sound field matches the on-axis sound.
The result is a flat response, everywhere in the room.
